Will my car insurance go up if I enter the diversion program?

Entry into the Oregon DUII diversion program shows up on your driving record in Oregon.  If you face an implied consent suspension (failing / refusing a breath or blood test) this will also show up on your driving record.

Your insurance company will see the entry if they obtain a copy of your  Oregon driving record.  Auto insurance companies will treat a diversion similar to how they treat a DUII conviction, so rates will likely rise if they learn about your diversion entry.  In Oregon, an insurance company generally can only access your driving record for three years, so eventually the entry will "drop off" for insurance purposes.

If you choose to apply for a hardship permit, your insurance company will need to file an SR-22 which will also cause your insurance company to learn about your DUII.
